Your Profile & Public Page

Profile Settings

Your profile is accessible from the "Profile" link in the main navigation. The profile page has multiple tabs for different settings:

  • Profile: Bio, photo, specialties, location, and URL slug
  • Tour Schedule: Upcoming tournament and tour locations
  • Availability: Time windows when you're available for sessions
  • Session Types: Coaching session offerings (duration, description)
  • Settings: Account preferences and notifications

Setting Your URL Slug

Your URL slug is your custom web address on FormLab. Instead of a generic ID-based URL, you get a branded address like:

formlabapp.com/coach/your-slug

Slug Requirements

  • Must be 3-50 characters long
  • Lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens only
  • Cannot start or end with a hyphen
  • Must be unique (not taken by another coach)
  • Cannot use reserved words like "dashboard", "videos", "api", etc.

Setting Your Slug

  1. Go to Profile → Profile tab
  2. Enter your desired slug in the URL slug field
  3. Wait for real-time validation (you'll see a green checkmark if available)
  4. Save your profile to claim the slug

Slug Tips:

  • Use your name or coaching brand (e.g., "john-smith-dg" or "elite-form-coach")
  • Keep it short and memorable
  • Avoid numbers unless they're part of your brand
  • You can change your slug later, but existing links will break

Your Public Page

Your public coach page is accessible at /coach/[your-slug] and can be viewed by anyone without logging in. It's your coaching storefront.

What's Displayed

  • Your profile photo
  • Your name and location
  • Your bio and coaching philosophy
  • Your specialties (e.g., "Backhand Form", "Putting Mechanics")
  • Your active subscription tiers with pricing and descriptions
  • "Subscribe" buttons for each tier

SEO and Social Sharing

Your public page includes SEO meta tags for better search engine visibility and social media sharing:

  • Page title: "Your Name - Disc Golf Coach | FormLab"
  • Meta description uses the first 160 characters of your bio
  • Open Graph tags for better appearance when shared on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
  • Your profile photo is used as the social sharing image

Subscribe Flow

When an athlete clicks "Subscribe" on your public page:

  1. If not logged in, they're redirected to login/signup with a return URL
  2. After authentication, they're brought back to complete the subscription
  3. They proceed through Stripe checkout (for paid tiers) or instant subscription (for free tiers)
  4. Once subscribed, they can start submitting videos and messaging you

Note: Your public page only shows active subscription tiers. Inactive tiers are hidden from potential athletes but remain available to existing subscribers.

Tour Schedule

The Tour Schedule tab lets you share upcoming tournaments or tour stops where you'll be. This helps local athletes know where you'll be.

Adding Tour Locations

  1. Go to Profile → Tour Schedule tab
  2. Click "Add Tour Stop" or similar button
  3. Enter the event name (e.g., "Memorial Championship")
  4. Enter the location (city, state/country)
  5. Set the start and end dates
  6. Save the tour stop

Your tour schedule can appear on your public page or in search results, helping athletes in those areas discover you.

Availability & Session Types

These settings control your coaching session offerings.

Availability

Set your general availability windows so athletes know when you're available for sessions:

  • Define blocks of time per day/week when you're open for bookings
  • Set buffer times between sessions
  • Mark specific dates as unavailable (vacations, tournaments)

Session Types

Create different session offerings:

  1. Go to Profile → Session Types tab
  2. Click "Add Session Type"
  3. Enter a name (e.g., "1-Hour Form Analysis", "30-Min Putting Clinic")
  4. Set the duration (30 min, 1 hour, 2 hours, etc.)
  5. Write a description of what's included
  6. Save the session type

Athletes subscribed to tiers with session limits can book from your session types within their allowance.
